The Baton Rouge Women's Bowling Association's (BRWBA) long history began in 1942 during World War II as a member of the Women's International Bowling Congress (WIBC).
The Baton Rouge Bowling Association's (BRBA) history dates back to the late 1940's first as an organization and in 1950 as a member of the American Bowling Congress (ABC).
In 2005, after the merger of the ABC and the WIBC into the United States Bowling Congress (USBC), the BRWBA was rechartered as the Baton Rouge USBC Women's Bowling Association (BRUSBCWBA) and the BRBA was rechartered as the Baton Rouge USBC Bowling Association (BRUSBCBA). In 2008, these two associations came together as one and was rechartered as the Greater Baton Rouge USBC (GBRUSBC).
