The Greater Baton Rouge USBC Open Meeting is scheduled for May 5th, 2012 at the Belle of Baton Rouge Hotel Atrium.  Registration begins at 11:30 am, Lunch at 12:00 pm and business meeting to follow.

At the May 5th, 2012 Greater Baton Rouge USBC Open Meeting, the following Board   Members are up for re-election for two-year terms:

Eligibility forms must be completed and all nominees must meet the qualifications as listed below.
 
A candidate for the board must be:
 
1. A USBC member in good standing of the association at the time of election and throughout their term.
2. Elected or appointed without regard to race, color, religion, gender, disability, national origin, or age, other than the minimum age of 14, unless state laws mandate a specific age, and be reasonably representative of the membership.
   a.  Any member of the board authorized to sign contracts or acting as a signatory on association accounts must be a minimum age of 18.
   b.  At least 20% of the board must be elected by and from the Youth Committee.
   c.  A maximum of three bowling center proprietors may serve on the board a one time.  A proprietor is an individual who is the owner, partner, or corporate officer of a bowling center or group of bowling centers.  Excluded from the definition of proprietor is an individual who owns 25% or less of the equity shares, or who is inactive in the management of the bowling center and remains so during a term as an officer.
 
Registered Volunteer Program:
 
Please note that once you are elected to the board of directors, you will have to undergo a background check through the USBC Registered Volunteers Program.  This is due to the fact that board of directors works directly with the youth and youth programs.  It includes a mandatory criminal background screening designed to remove and/or discourage those who might harm kids.
 
Running from the Floor:
 
Please be advised that if someone plans to run for the board from the floor at the open meeting, their qualifications must be submitted to the Nominating Committee Chairman or the Association Manager at least twenty-four (24) hours prior to the elections at the open meeting.  Forms are available online.  Just click Eligibility Form below.

If you would like to be considered for nomination for a position on the Board of Directors, please print, fill out the Eligibility Form, sign and mail to the Nominating Charmain or Association Manager NLT than April 1, 2012.  If you wish to run from the floor, please turn in your qualifications at least twenty-four (24) hours prior to the elections at the open meeting.

The 54th Annual GBRUSBC Youth City Championships was held November 12th - 13th, 2011 at Metro Bowl.   Current Standings  The standings are Official.

There have been changes to the USBC awards program which include new 75 pins over average game and 140 pins over average series awards.  The GBRUSBC has also implemented a local awards program for 50 pins over average game and 100 pins over average series.

Due to the USBC Open Championships being held in Baton Rouge from February 1012 thru July 2012, the GBRUSBC Open Championships will be held January 14th & 15th, 21st & 22nd, 2012 at All Star Lanes.
